Winkie is a nice and innocent teddy bear, who just happens to be in a wrong place at a wrong time and is arrested. Winkie is accused of terrorism and other things, because people believe that Winkie is responsible for several nasty things. I think it's interesting that the author has written a book /5.

For the first third of this book, I gave it a 3. By the middle third it was a 4, and by the time I finished it was a 5. Winkie is a memorable and loveable character. The book is filled with creativity. I didn't find it achingly funny as the book jacket suggested, but it most definitely was surprisingly moving/5(48).

Wee Willie Winkie runs through the town, Upstairs and downstairs in his nightgown, Rapping at the window, crying through the lock, “Are the children in their beds?

For now it’s eight o’clock!”. Winkie, Clifford Chase’s bizarre first novel, is far more than a one-note indictment of human-rights abuses. It’s also a parable, a bedtime story.
